Overview

An AEMT course built to the National EMS Education Standards: advanced assessment, IV and IO access, supraglottic airways, and the AEMT medication formulary, with clinical and field time. Your program verifies each Student Minimum Competency; since July 1, 2024 NREMT gives AEMT candidates one computer-based exam and no separate psychomotor exam. Utah requires every AEMT course to run at least 120 hours, with at least 70 hours of in-person skills instruction, and every skills station keeps a 1:6 instructor ratio in any format. Choose in person at our training center, hybrid, or live online lectures with in-person skills labs. Students must keep a current Utah EMT license or higher until the AEMT license is granted.

What You Will Learn

  • Start and maintain IV and IO access and give fluids
  • Place and manage supraglottic airways and monitor with capnography
  • Give AEMT scope medications safely, including dose calculations
  • Assess and treat shock, respiratory, cardiac and diabetic emergencies at the AEMT level
  • Complete the Student Minimum Competency patient contacts and skills
  • Lead scene care and hand off to paramedics and hospital staff
