Sound Familiar?

Board Prep Should Not Be Guesswork

You earned your seat on the aircraft, the critical care truck or the tactical team. Getting ready for the board should not cost you a week of shifts and a stack of generic flashcards.

The Logistical Problem

Good Review Is Hard to Reach

Quality board review often means a flight, a hotel and a string of traded shifts, and generic review can drift off the outline your exam actually tests.

The Emotional Problem

Will I Pass the Board?

IBSC exams test mastery, not entry-level knowledge. You passed your NREMT years ago, and now you wonder if you know vents, pumps and flight physiology cold.

The Deeper Problem

The Sickest Patients, One Crew

Transport patients are some of the sickest in the system, and they get one crew for the whole ride. The credential should mean that crew is ready, not that it memorized a question bank.

We Understand

We Know What Board Week Asks of You

We know what board prep asks of a working crew: shift work, flashcards and a content outline that covers more than any one base sees in a year. Our IBSC courses follow the outlines IBSC publishes for each credential and are taught live, so you can ask the question you would never type into a forum. Then you sit the exam ready.

How It Works

From Blueprint to Board Exam

1

Pick Your Credential

Choose the course that matches your board: FP-C, CCP-C, CP-C, TP-C, TR-C, DICO-C, WP-C or MFT. Initial and refresher versions are listed separately.

2

Choose a Date and Format

Join a public class at our training center or a live remote session, or request a private class at your base. Add a skills day where the course offers it.

3

Train, Then Sit the Board

Work the content outline with an instructor, then apply for your exam with IBSC when you are ready. IBSC sets eligibility, exam fees and testing options.

The Stakes Are Real

The Cost of Walking In Unprepared

Without Code Blue Training

Studying Without a Map

A general critical care text covers too much and misses what your exam outline actually weights.

A Retest on Your Own Dime

Miss the passing standard and you pay IBSC for another attempt, then give up more weeks of study.

The Last Month Scramble

Leave your board or retest date to the final weeks and there is no margin for a missed class or a bad week of shifts.

Hands Out of Practice

Low volume, high acuity care slips between transports when nobody makes you practice it.

With Code Blue Training

Review Built on the Outline

Each session follows the content outline IBSC publishes for your credential.

Training Where It Works

Class at our training center, at your base or live remote, with instructors across the USA who travel to your crew.

A Plan Before the Deadline

Know which course fits your exam or retest date early, so your review never lands in the final month.

Hands-On, Not Just Slides

Skills sessions in our simulation lab let you run critical care scenarios before the next real one.

Questions

IBSC Course Questions, Answered

FP-C is Flight Paramedic and CCP-C is Critical Care Paramedic; many crews review for both together. CP-C is Community Paramedic, TP-C is Tactical Paramedic and TR-C is Tactical Responder. DICO-C is Designated Infection Control Officer, WP-C is Wilderness Paramedic, and MFT is the Maternal Fetal Transport microcredential. Each course page names the credential it prepares you for.

IBSC sets eligibility and lists it in each exam's candidate handbook, so check the current handbook before you apply. In short: FP-C and CCP-C require an unrestricted paramedic license. TP-C requires the same license, and IBSC expects TP-C candidates to know current TCCC and TECC guidelines. CP-C is open to EMTs, AEMTs, paramedics, nurses and community health workers. WP-C accepts paramedics, RNs and PAs, and physicians working with a wilderness medical team. TR-C accepts EMRs, EMTs, AEMTs and law enforcement officers with tactical knowledge consistent with current TCCC and TECC guidelines. DICO-C is for responders who serve, or may serve, as an infection control officer. MFT accepts paramedics, RNs, mid-level providers, respiratory therapists and physicians.

Take the initial course if you are preparing for your first attempt at the board exam. Take the refresher if you already hold the credential and are preparing to recertify by retest (IBSC lists no retest route for the MFT), or want a structured review of the outline. Most IBSC certifications run four years. DICO-C runs three years and the MFT microcredential runs two.

Not toward the approved review course requirement. When you recertify FP-C, CCP-C or WP-C by continuing education, IBSC requires 16 of your clinical hours to come from a course on its approved review list. For TP-C it also accepts TCCC or TECC for those hours. For CP-C, IBSC sources differ: the 2026 CP-C handbook asks for 16 hours from an approved CP-C review class, while IBSC's approved course list says CP-C does not require one. We have applied to be listed as an Approved Review Course provider, and IBSC reviews the course outline, faculty and medical director support before it lists a program. Until IBSC lists us, our courses do not meet that requirement, so check with IBSC before counting any of our hours toward recertification. We will update this page when the status changes.

Yes. Courses offer a live remote option for the classroom portion where the course page lists it, and hybrid versions pair a live remote class with an in-person day. Skills sessions, where a course includes them, happen in person, in the simulation lab at our training center or at your base on a private class. IBSC exams are knowledge exams with no skills station, so that time is for your practice, not an IBSC requirement. The board exam is separate: IBSC offers test center or remote proctored options depending on the credential, and the TR-C and MFT exams are remote proctored only.

No. You apply for the exam and pay IBSC directly, and IBSC sets the fee for each credential. We do not administer or score IBSC exams. Our job is to get you ready to pass one.

Open a course, pick a session and select Reserve Seat. We hold your seat and email you the details. Contact us before the hold ends to pay by card over the phone or an agency purchase order. If no date works for you, request one.

Cancellation and reschedule terms depend on the course and are shown before you reserve. Contact us as early as you can and we will help you move to another date when seats are open.
