Overview

MHRO prepares a member of an EMS agency to serve as its Mental Health Resilience Officer: engaging peers on mental health and resilience, identifying colleagues in crisis, guiding them to services, and building an agency resilience program. It covers the impact of EMS work on mental health, resilience at the individual, team and agency level, communication strategies and case studies, with a digital resource guide. Our sessions are the 8-hour classroom course.

Who Should Attend

Experienced EMS practitioners designated as their agency mental health or peer support lead.

Prerequisites

  • Suggested: current state EMT license or higher
  • Suggested: 3 or more years of full-time EMS practice
  • Preferred: prior CISD or motivational interviewing experience

Questions About This Course

NAEMT also sells a 6-hour online MHRO course through its publisher. It awards a certificate and CE but not the 4-year provider card that the classroom course carries.

Open a course, pick a session and select Reserve Seat, then pay on our secure payment page by card or bank account (ACH). Paying online adds a processing fee, and you see the exact total before you pay. Your seat is confirmed as soon as the payment goes through. To pay by card over the phone or an agency purchase order instead, reserve your seat, then contact us. If no date works for you, request one.

Cancellation and reschedule terms depend on the course and are shown before you reserve. Contact us as early as you can and we will help you move to another date when seats are open.
